The idea of parenting can seem overwhelming and uncertain for any number of reasons. Parenting is never painless, no matter what your age, financial situation, or background. However, there are more resources today than ever before for women who choose to parent independently. Plus, we are here to support, advise, and connect you to the resources you need to parent with confidence.
Is Parenting Right For Me?
This is a big question and the answer might surprise you. Many women who were not planning on being moms yet, took on the challenge and were very successful. This does not mean it was easy. Parenting is one of the hardest things any one can do, but with the right support system in place, it is also one of the most fulfilling.
Something To Think About
If you are considering parenting, you likely have a million questions rushing through your mind. To help you slow down and begin processing, we suggest starting with these basic questions:
- What support systems do I have to help me raise a child?
- Are there resources available to help me financially support a child?
- Am I in a safe or stable situation to parent?
- Will I be able to continue with school or my career?
At Women’s Resource Center, your client advocate is here to help you process this option and answer your questions about parenting.
